Section 01

Getting started

01What is AdsNotch?
AdsNotch lets Mac users earn from advertising displayed along the right edge of their screen. Advertisers pay for verified exposure, and AdsNotch shares that revenue with the person displaying the ad.
02Do I need to use an AI tool to earn?
No. Ambient notch ads are available during ordinary Mac use. Supported agent sessions, notification moments, and idle moments can unlock the larger, higher-paying expanded format, but none of them are required to earn.
03What do I need to install AdsNotch?
You need a Mac running macOS 14 or later and an AdsNotch account. Download the Mac app, sign in from its menu-bar controls, and keep using your Mac normally.
04Where do ads appear?
Ads appear on the right edge of your display. You can drag the notch up or down to place it where it feels comfortable, but it remains attached to the right edge.
05What ad formats can appear?
AdsNotch has a compact ambient notch and a larger 9:16 expanded format. Creatives may be static images, animated images such as GIFs, or videos. Every ad runs for 30 seconds.

Impressions & earnings

01What counts as a verified impression?
The ad must complete 30 verified seconds while its AdsNotch surface is visible and the Mac remains awake and unlocked. If the display sleeps, the Mac locks, the ad is hidden, or visibility cannot be verified, the clock stops. Hidden time is never billed or rewarded.
02How much can I earn?
Earnings depend on the live CPM, the format shown, your current revenue share, available campaigns, advertiser targeting, frequency limits, and verified viewing time. Ambient notch advertising starts from $2 CPM and expanded advertising starts from $6 CPM. Earnings are not guaranteed.
03How is my revenue share calculated?
You receive 70% during your first seven UTC days. After that, your percentage is recalculated daily at 00:00 UTC from your average verified activity across the configured number of previous complete UTC days. Your Rewards page shows the current ranges, your percentage, and progress toward the next range.
04Does today’s activity immediately change my percentage?
No. Today's percentage is based on completed UTC days and stays fixed for that day. Verified activity recorded today contributes to tomorrow's rolling calculation.
05Can a later rate change alter previous earnings?
No. Each earning permanently records its gross media value and the user percentage applied to it. Changes to CPM pricing or reward ranges apply to new impressions and do not reprice historical earnings.
06Why might an impression not be rewarded?
An impression can be rejected if it is incomplete, duplicated, replayed, hidden, outside the campaign's country targeting, over a frequency or safety limit, or unable to pass AdsNotch's visibility and anti-fraud checks.
07How do I withdraw my earnings?
Withdrawals are provided through a Whop claim link. The current minimum withdrawal is $3. Your Rewards page shows your total earnings, available balance, previous withdrawals, and any pending amount. AdsNotch covers any fee Whop charges us to add funds to your Whop balance, so the full amount reaches your Whop balance. Any later bank, wallet, or method-specific fee is shown by Whop before you withdraw from Whop and is paid by you.
08Can I use my earnings to advertise?
Yes. Available earnings can be moved into advertising credit at a 1:1 rate with no minimum. Advertising credit is separate from withdrawable earnings and cannot automatically be converted back.
Section 03

Privacy & control

01Does AdsNotch read my screen?
No. AdsNotch does not collect screenshots, screen contents, browser history, window titles, files, or keystrokes. It checks only the operational signals needed to confirm that its own ad surface was visible and eligible.
02Does AdsNotch read my notifications?
No. AdsNotch can detect that a macOS notification banner appeared so it can trigger an optional expanded ad, but it does not read the notification's text or contents.
03Does it require Screen Recording, Accessibility, or Input Monitoring permission?
No. AdsNotch verifies its own surface without asking for Screen Recording, Accessibility, or Input Monitoring access.
04Can I pause or disable ads?
Yes. You can pause all rewarded ads, snooze them temporarily, or independently disable ambient, expanded, notification-triggered, and idle-triggered formats. Paused or disabled formats do not earn.
05How is my country determined?
AdsNotch uses the public IP observed when the Mac app contacts the service and resolves it to a country code. This supports country-level campaign targeting; it does not use precise GPS location.
06When can an expanded ad appear?
Expanded ads can be unlocked by supported coding-agent sessions, macOS notification banners, or configured idle moments. Each trigger can be disabled separately, and the ad never delays or blocks the agent that triggered it.
Section 04

For advertisers

01How does advertising on AdsNotch work?
Create a campaign, select a format and countries, upload a creative, set your budget and maximum CPM, add advertising credit, and submit the creative for review. Approved campaigns are delivered only to eligible Macs matching their targeting.
02What do advertisers pay for?
Advertisers pay for verified visibility—not merely for loading an ad. Campaign spend records the full media price; the Mac user receives the revenue-share percentage active for that impression, and AdsNotch retains the remainder.
03Can advertisers target particular countries?
Yes. Campaigns can target selected countries. AdsNotch matches that targeting against the country associated with each participating Mac's recorded public IP.
04How does CPM pricing work?
AdsNotch supports fixed or dynamically adjusted market rates. You can set a maximum CPM for a campaign, and delivery respects that limit. The current effective rates and campaign spend are always shown in USD.
05How much advertising credit do I need to add?
The current minimum top-up is $5. Funding takes place through a Whop-hosted checkout, and credit is added only after the payment is confirmed.
06Are ads reviewed before they run?
Yes. Every creative must be reviewed before serving. AdsNotch can approve it, request changes, reject it, or pause it if the creative or destination becomes unsuitable.
07What campaign reporting is available?
The dashboard reports impressions, verified visibility, clicks, click-through rate, spending, format performance, campaign totals, and creative-level performance.
08Can the same account earn and advertise?
Yes. One AdsNotch account can do both. Earnings and advertising credit remain separate balances, and available earnings can be transferred into advertising credit when you choose.
